Jalan Jalan Sri Lanka : Colombo

Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Rahim

I do not know why, big cities don’t intrigue me much. Same goes with Colombo. We didn’t actually plan for anything to do in Colombo except for shopping. Sangatlah semangat nak cari kain saree, masuk kedai jual saree je, kedai lain tak layan punye….

We went to Colombo from Galle via train. The ticket cost for only LKR180 for 2^nd class seat. This is a splendid journey compare to our ride from Colombo to Kandy. We passed by few slums built along the shoreline and at some point, we were so close to the seashore. Slums, the ocean, paddy fields, until we came upon concrete high-rise buildings that indicate the start of urbanised Colombo.

Not much photos were taken back in Colombo as we didn't have much time to explore Colombo; plus, shopping made us so busy. :)

It was so hot after a long walk, ice apple tea cools me down.

We came upon Jami-ul-alfar mosque, Second Cross St, Pettah.

After all, I really enjoyed Sri Lanka. An island which is clasped by their own historical epic, beautiful scenery, rich culture and good food. The people are very nice and super friendly but not when the train is full. Heheh. Our trip covers the land, the mountain and the sea. I wish I can return to Sri Lanka for hiking trip or jungle trekking and maybe even visiting Sigiriya.
